Here’s a lineup of the events, most of which are free and begin at dusk. Others events include annual barbecue fundraisers, parades and more.
BARNEGAT: The township will celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with a free concert and fireworks at the Municipal Dock. The concert will feature the “Sounds of the Street” and will start about 7 p.m. The dock is located on Bayshore Drive. July 3 will be a free concert by “Captain Eric and the Shipwrecks” at about 7 p.m. July 5 will be a concert featuring “Hi Fives,” also at 7 p.m.
BEACHWOOD AND TOMS RIVER: Beachwood will celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with a community festival and fireworks at the Bayside Avenue beachfront. You can also crowd the Toms River side of the river to view from places such as Huddy Park and Riverfront Landing Park. The celebration begins at 8 p.m. and the fireworks are scheduled to start at dusk.
BRICK: For Independence Day there’s a concert kicking off the Summerfest series, with The Amish Outlaws on July 2 at 7 p.m. The fireworks extravaganza follows at 9 p.m. The celebration is held at Windward Beach Park on Princeton Avenue. There will be free shuttle buses available on concert and fireworks nights. Shuttle buses run from Brick Township High School, Midstreams Elementary School, and Drum Point Elementary School from 5 to 8 p.m.
JACKSON: Six Flags Great Adventure will stage a fireworks display each night July 3, 4 & 5 and special events every day. Other events include concerts by Magic! on Friday and by Daddy Yankee on Saturday and a July 4 Barbecue on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be a disc jockey on hand near the carousel and the Yum Yum Cafe.
LACEY: The Township has scheduled their fireworks for July 3. Lacey celebrates with a community gathering and fireworks display. The event will start at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks will start about 9:15 p.m. The event will be held at Lacey Township High School. Rain date is July 5.
Homes in Ocean County, NJ
LAKEHURST: On July 3, a fireworks display will be held at Lake Horicon at dusk. The rain date for the fireworks will be July 11. On July 4, the 25th annual Antique Car Show will be held at the Lakehurst Elementary School from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The rain date for the antique car show is July 5. A parade, also on July 4, will begin at 11 a.m., with line-up at 10:45 a.m. at Railroad Avenue. For more information, call Borough Hall at 732-657-4141.
LAKEWOOD: The township will celebrate Independence Day with a concert and fireworks all on July 2 at Lake Carasaljo. There will be a concert featuring the Wilbur Wittemann Patriotic Band at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks will start about 9:15 p.m. Shuttle buses will be available from the Municipal Building & Public Works parking lot, beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, please contact 732-905-3405.
The Lakewood Blueclaws will stage a fireworks display after their games with the Hagerstown Suns on July 4 & 5. The stadium is located at 2 Stadium Way. The show starts at the end of each game.
LONG BEACH ISLAND: On July 4, there will be lots going on for Independence Day. Barnegat Light has their Independence Day Parade at 6:30 p.m. There is Craft Day by the Bay in Harvey Cedars. South End Surf n Paddle has their Shape Fest going on. And there are lots of fireworks. By reservation only, you can take a fireworks cruise on Miss Barnegat Light. At the Barnegat Municipal Dock, there is a concert and fireworks at dusk. And over at Bay Village in Beach Haven, there are fireworks over the bay at dusk.
NORMANDY BEACH: Commemorate July 4 in patriotic fashion by attending the 28th annual Normandy Beach Flag-Raising and Veterans Appreciation celebration at 1 p.m. The majority of the festivities occur at Sixth Avenue and Ocean Terrace in Normandy, located midway between Mantoloking and Lavallette. POINT PLEASANT BEACH: Jenkinson’s Boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach will stage a fireworks display to celebrate the holiday. They will stage their holiday display on July 2 & 3.
SEASIDE HEIGHTS: The borough will celebrate July 4 with a fireworks extravaganza at 9:30 p.m. Seaside Heights will begin their regular Wednesday night fireworks that will continue all summer long at 9:30 p.m. Those fireworks will be staged weekly until August 26. The fireworks can be seen anywhere on the boardwalk or the beach in Seaside Heights.
TUCKERTON: The borough and Tuckerton Seaport will celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with food vendors, a DJ, fireworks and more. The day begins with a parade down Main Street at 10 a.m. Other events continue throughout the day.
