Tuckerton Beach Waterfront Home

11 Carroll AveA Sportsman’s Dream. This Tuckerton Beach waterfront home at 11 Carroll Ave is located literally seconds from the bay and only minutes to the ocean, via the inlet. Home is on a cul-de-sac and is already on pilings 12 feet above the ground, so nothing to do but move in and get your fishing lines in the water! Tile floors, granite and stainless steel kitchen make this home stylish as well as functional.

The open floor plan allows natural light to all parts of the living areas. Panoramic views from the decks, you can even see the lights of Atlantic City in the distance. As a matter of fact "A.C." is only a short car ride away as are local golf courses and other recreational activities. Two of Tuckerton’s restaurants are right down the street, within easy walking distance.

In addition to the open floor plan in the main living area, there is another Great Room on the upper floor that allows private arrangements for any guests. This home was built in 2006, dock (with electricity and hot water) and bulkhead built simultaneously. If youre looking for a Sportsman’s Paradise, look no further...this house is for you!

The area that is now Tuckerton was settled in 1698. Some of the early settlers were Andrews, Willets and Osborns. Edward Andrews settled on the east side of the Pohatcong Creek; his brother, Mordecia Andrews settled on the west side of the same creek. Edward, tired of going to Mount Holly Township with his grain, constructed a cedar log grist mill on the site of a dam built by beavers at the mouth of what is known as Tuckerton Creek. He built the grist mill in 1704, and it still stands to this day.

At the Tuckerton Seaport Museum a re-created lighthouse has been built as well as other re-created buildings that were on Tuckers Island. In the lighthouse there are several wall mounted pictures preserving the instant that the original lighthouse fell into the sea. The original island remains under water.
